Today's character is Joe Fortress
Hello, my name is Joe Fortress and I'm 23 years old. I used to live in the U.S., and I spent a few years in Indonesia before moving to Italy.
Would you like to tell us why you moved to Europe?
I don't like talking about that... something bad happened back in Asia, so I had to leave. I wandered for some time first, visited my parents back home and some friends in Schotland, then went to Italy and found a reason to stay.
Oh, do tell us! What, or who, is this reason?
Well, I found someone there, who's very special to me. Victoria Springer. I'd been looking for her for quite some time and one night, in August, I just met her there. She lives in the U.K. but I chose to stay in Italy and we see each other when she comes over.
Now let's get back to you. What did you do in Indonesia and what are you doing now?
I was a Protector, just like Victoria. I lost almost all my powers back there, but I feel like I'm recovering here in Italy, like I'm getting some back. That's because of the great friends I have over there, who help me a lot with that. So now I'm just helping out around the Domus and getting my powers back.
What are your passions and interests?
I like drangons, a lot. I guess I would have liked that path too! I also love music, I play the guitar and sing and I really love Coldplay at this moment. I'm also a Red Hot Chili Pepper fan, they are awesome.
I'm also very passionate about the environment, I'm vegan and I'll fight for nature until I die. Which is really the point of me being here, right?
And I have a soft spot for magical creatures: I owe a lot to the gnome Lucio, my first teacher and great friend, I like fairies and Agatha's boyfriend, Chloros the Nature Spirit, is a good guy. I like hanging out with him.
Who are the "guys" you hang out with?
Well, there's Chloros, as I just said, then there is Luca, but he's a Golden Soul so that gets a little difficult sometimes, there's Lucio, but again because of his size it's not like we can go out and have a drink.
Whenever I'm at the Lake Garda I go out with some of the boys from the Institute for Blind Youngsters, Jacopo and Francesco, they are cool kids and know a bit about what we do. Although they don't know about the dragons and the magic and all that stuff.
Thank you for this short interview, we hope to read more about you in the future...
Thank you. You'll see me very soon with my friend Bunjeer and Did & Nah, the small gods of past and ancient times. they are crazy and fun to be around too. Did & Nah actually travelled with me, they have been reduced in size though, 'cause they were causing way too much trouble. They sometimes annoy me, they can be stupid, but they are nice in the end. Especially now that they are this small!
